Bíblia (AT-Exodus 33:18-23)

18 He then said, ‘Please show me your glory.’
19 The LORD said, ‘I shall make all my goodness pass before you, and before you I shall pronounce the name “the LORD”; for I am gracious to those to whom I am gracious and I take pity on those on whom I take pity.’
20 He said, ‘My face you cannot see, for no human being can see me and survive.’
[Note of The Revised New Jerusalem Bible: 20 God’s holiness is so far removed from human unworthiness, Lv 17:1, that no ordinary human being can even approach God, 19:9; Nb 4:20; Dt 5:24–25.Humans, 3:6;19:13, and even seraphs, Is 6:2, cover their faces in his presence. Moses and Elijah are allowed to glimpse God, 33:11; 34:34; Nb 12:8; Dt 34:10;19:11. Only Jesus has fully seen the Father, Jn 1:14; 1:17.]
21 Then the LORD said, ‘Here is a place near me. You will stand on the rock,
22 and when my glory passes by, I shall put you in a cleft of the rock and shield you with my hand until I have gone past.
23 Then I shall take my hand away and you will see my back; but my face will not be seen.’
