Profecias sobre Jesus, o Messias

Que Jesus seria precedido de João Batista, que prepararia o caminho do Senhor (o "Elias" que deveria vir primeiro)

Bíblia (AT-Isaiah 40:1-5)

1 ‘Comfort, O comfort my people,’ says your God.
2 Speak to the heart of Jerusalem and cry out to her that her period of service is ended, her penalty has been paid; from the hand of the LORD she has received double for all her sins.’
3 A voice crying out, ‘In the desert prepare a way for the LORD. Make straight across the wastelands a highway for our God.
4 Let every ravine be filled in, every mountain and hill be brought down. the crooked shall be straight, the rough places a plain.
5 Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed and all humanity shall see it together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.’

Bíblia (NT-Matthew 3:1-3)

1 In those days, John the Baptist came, proclaiming in the desert of Judaea,
2 saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.’
3 This was the man spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said: A voice of one crying in the desert, ‘Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight.’

Bíblia (NT-Matthew 11:9-14)

9 Then what did you go out for? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
10 This is the one of whom it is written: Look, I am going to send my messenger ahead of you to prepare the way before you.
11 ‘Amen I say to you, of the children born to women, none has been raised up greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
12 Since John the Baptist came, up to this present time, the kingdom of Heaven has been subjected to violence and the violent are taking it by storm.
13 For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John the Baptist;
14 and he, if you will accept it, is Elijah who was to come.

Bíblia (NT-Mark 1:1-4)

1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus the Messiah, Son of God.
2 As it is written in the prophet Isaiah: Look, I am sending my messenger in front of you who will prepare your way.
3 A voice of one crying in the desert: Prepare a way for the Lord make his paths straight.
4 John the Baptist was in the desert, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Bíblia (NT-Mark 9:11-13)

11 And they put this question to him, ‘What do the scribes mean, that Elijah must come first?’
12 He said to them, ‘Elijah is indeed first coming to set everything right again; yet how is it written about the Son of man that he must suffer much and be treated with contempt?
13 But I tell you that Elijah has come and they did what they liked with him, just as it is written about him.’

Bíblia (NT-Luke 3:1-9)

1 In the fifteenth year of the rule of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of the territories of Ituraea and Trachonitis, Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
2 during the highpriesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zechariah, in the desert.
3 He went into the whole Jordan area proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins,
4 as it is written in the book of the sayings of Isaiah the prophet: A voice of one crying in the desert: Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight!
5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill be levelled, the crooked shall be straightened and rough places made into smooth roads,
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
7 He said, therefore, to the crowds who came out to be baptised by him, ‘Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Produce fruit worthy of repentance, and do not start telling yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father,” because, I tell you, God can raise children for Abraham from these stones.
9 Indeed, even now the axe is being laid to the root of the trees, so any tree failing to produce good fruit is cut down and thrown on the fire.’

Bíblia (NT-Luke 7:24-28)

24 When John’s messengers had gone he began to talk to the crowds about John,
25 ‘What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swaying in the breeze? Then what did you go out to see? Someone dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who go in magnificent clothes and live luxuriously are to be found at royal courts!
26 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet:
27 he is the one of whom it is written: Look, I am going to send my messenger ahead of you to prepare your way before you.
28 ‘I tell you, of the children born to women, no one is greater than John; yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.’

Bíblia (NT-John 1:15-27)

15 John witnesses to him and cried out, saying, ‘This is the one of whom I said: He who comes after me has passed ahead of me because he was before me.’
16 Indeed, from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace,
17 for the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 No one has ever seen God; it is the only-begotten Son, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.
19 This is the witness of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, ‘Who are you?’
20 He declared, he did not deny but declared, ‘I am not the Messiah.’
21 So they asked, ‘What then? Are you Elijah?’ He replied, ‘I am not.’ ‘Are you the Prophet?’ He answered, ‘No.’
22 So they said to him, ‘Who are you? So that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?’
23 So he said, ‘I am, as Isaiah prophesied: A voice of one that cries in the desert: prepare a way for the Lord.’
24 Now they had been sent from the Pharisees,
25 and they put a question to him and said, ‘Why then are you baptising if you are not the Messiah nor Elijah nor the Prophet?’
26 John answered them, ‘I baptise with water; but among you is standing one whom you do not know,
27 the one who is coming after me; and I am not worthy to undo the strap of his sandal.’

Bíblia (NT-John 5:30-39)

30 On my own I can do nothing. As I hear, so I judge, and my judgement is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
31 If I bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true;
32 but there is another who witnesses about me, and I know that his witness about me is true.
33 You sent messengers to John, and he bore witness to the truth.
34 I do not accept human witness; it is for your salvation that I say this.
35 He was the lamp burning and shining and for a time you were glad to rejoice in his light.
36 But I have a greater witness than John’s: the deeds my Father has given me to complete, these same deeds that I do witness that the Father has sent me.
37 Besides, the Father who sent me himself witnesses on my behalf. You have never heard his voice, you have never seen his form,
38 and you do not have his word dwelling in you because you do not believe in the one whom he sent.
39 You search the scriptures, believing that in them you have eternal life; it is these that bear witness about me,

Bíblia (NT-Luke 1:8-17,76-80)

8 Now it happened that in the turn of his section to serve, he was exercising his priestly office before God
9 when it fell to him by lot, as the priestly custom was, to enter the Lord’s sanctuary and burn incense there.
10 And at the hour of incense all the people were outside, praying.
11 Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right of the altar of incense.
12 Seeing this, Zechariah was disturbed and overcome with fear.
13 But the angel said to him, ‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth is to bear you a son and you shall name him John.
14 You will have joy and delight, and many will rejoice at his birth,
15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He must never drink wine, or strong drink; even from his mother’s womb he will be filled with the Holy Spirit,
16 and he will turn many of the Israelites to the Lord their God.
17 With the spirit and power of Elijah, he will go before him to turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.’
[...]
76 And you, child, shall be called prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
77 to give his people knowledge of salvation by forgiveness of their sins,
78 by the heartfelt mercy of our God by which the dawn from on high will visit us,
79 to give light to those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.’ 80 And the child grew and was strengthened in spirit. And he lived in the desert until the day he appeared openly to Israel.
