A idolatria consiste em divinizar o que não é Deus. Devemos aspirar às coisas celestes e não às coisas terrestres (dinheiro, poder, prazer, imoralidade, impureza, paixão, maus desejos, cobiça)

Since you have been raised up to be with Christ, you must look for the things that are above, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand.
Let your thoughts be on things above, not on the things that are on earth,
because you have died, and the life you have is hidden with Christ in God.
But when Christ is revealed – and he is your life – you also will be revealed with him in glory.
Put to death, then, everything in you that is earthly: sexual vice, impurity, passion, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry;
these are the things which draw God’s wrath upon the disobedient.
They once made up your way of life when you were living such a life,
but now you also must give them all up: wrath, temper, malice, abuse and slander;
and do not lie to one another. You have stripped off your old personalityc with its practices,
and you have put on a new personality which is being renewed in true knowledge in accordance with the image of its Creator;
where there is no Greek and Jew, no circumcised and uncircumcised, no barbarian and Scythian, slave and free, but Christ is all and in all.
